After decades of renovations, decorating multiple homes

and project management, Kristi has the tools and style

to assist with a myriad of home projects.

Decorator & Home Stager

Kristi is amazing! She is able to transform a space with color, texture, and a keen eye. She has helped me turn my new house into a home that reflects my personality and design style. She is wonderful to work with and makes the process fun and exciting!

I worked with Kristi to decorate my new home, and I am very happy with the decision.  Over the last five months, our home has been transformed into a beautiful space that incorporates many of our old treasures and reflects our lifestyle, our respective textile heritages, and the house and funky neighborhood, too.  Kristi has been great about communicating regarding our budget and preferences, something I was nervous about.  And a big part of the process for me was education.  I have always been woefully out of the loop about matters such as bedding and pillows, for example, and really have no clue about what goes into designing a space.  Without pretention, Kristi has taught me so much, and I think over the years I will even be able to add to what she pulled together.

"We have used Kristi as our manager for our successful short term rental in nashville, tn. for aprox. 1 year. We can not imagine a better manager-(and we have rented our home for 3 years...we know the difference that Kristi makes.) Being prompt, friendly, available and completely professional is her way. And that’s just the beginning.

An example from last week:
Our guests were cooking thanksgiving dinner and the stove gave an error message and would not get past the error message. (No oven/ no heat/ no turkey!) Kristi came over on thanksgiving day and turned off the breaker and turned it back on to reset the stove computer. DONE- Working stove. She saved their celebration and left her own home to solve this for our guests. Who does that? Kristi Krauss does that. We can gleefully recommend her for this work. We are spoiled.

Kristi took over the management of our short term rental property when our previous managers did not have a single booking after June 15th (Nashville’s peak season). She completely turned around our Short Term Rental business and she is delightful to work with. She employs her natural skills in hospitality, communication, problem-solving, decorating, and detail management to earn us a 90% occupancy rate.  She shows great concern for the comfort and safety of our guests, like the many messages to assure that the house works for a family requiring wheel chair accessibility; accepting a shipment to her home of party items for a shower; and helping a guest plan a chef-catered meal AND handling a host’s worst nightmare – a mouse in the house!  She set up pest control service ASAP, and dashed to the house with her husband to put out interim mouse traps and reassure the guests that this was an aberration. (The guests gave us a 5-star review.) She works closely with the cleaning service to make sure our high expectations are met on every turnover. We have 100% 5-star reviews in every category: Overall Experience, Cleanliness, Communication, Check-In, Location, and Value thanks to her diligence. I highly recommend Kristi, and am grateful that she manages our Airbnb Plus property.

Kristi was born in Bloomington, Indiana, to a West Point-graduate, Army-officer father and a scientifically minded mother, so she believes that her organizational, editing and thought-processing skills come naturally. Before happily settling in Nashville 20 years ago, she lived in Ohio, Connecticut, Illinois, upstate New York and Sydney, Australia. Kristi collects butterflies as her paternal grandmother did, and wears her grandmother’s jewelry every day. A passionate traveler, she has visited many towns in France, including Paris; Hong Kong, China; Fiji; Hawaii; and over 20 U.S. states. Following the footsteps of her paternal grandparents and all her aunts, Kristi went down a professional path in education.

Kristi says that she has always been a habitual re-arranger of furniture, endlessly changing the decor of her childhood bedroom, her current home — and every residence of her six moves in between! Over the years, Kristi and her husband Viktor have purchased and renovated five as-is properties, including their current turn-of-the-century Victorian Nashville residence. Kristi’s passion for decorating, organizing and making a home comfortable and personal — with a flash of the humorous and unexpected — always shines through. Additionally, Kristi’s experience with owning, styling and managing two Airbnbs, as well as a client’s property, has been pivotal for further honing her design and organization skills and ultimately devoting more focus to these passions.

Since 2008, Kristi has been volunteering with Glendale Elementary as co-chair of the wildly popular Glendale Getdown fundraiser and as room parent and classroom helper. She is driven to serve the community, exemplified by her past work with Nashville Children’s Theatre, Student Behavior Intervention and Nashville Public Radio campaign support.

Kristi relishes downtime spent with her family, her husband Viktor’s music, summer travel with their children (especially to beaches and lakes), visiting with dear friends, meeting creative people, dressing up, vintage purses and book club. She also takes walks at Radnor Lake and other beautiful Nashville parks whenever possible; attempts crafts such as sewing, crocheting and knitting; spends time in the kitchen of her 1905 home baking and cooking; and shop at flea markets and consignment and antique stores. Somehow, Kristi still has endless energy for perusing Houzz, Pinterest and Everything But the House (EBTH).
